Yes, you are right. Often on dogs, cats and primates, also horses, cows and pigs. They have spent years vilifying rats and mice (even inventing deadly diseases they are supposed to carry) so that we will have no compassion whatsoever and a cultural hate of these animals. I knew someone years ago who worked at one of these labs, and she told me about experiments they did on dogs -- severing the spinal cord and then trying all sorts of experiments to repair it etc. etc., killing off the dogs after all that torture. She had a dog she had adopted from the lab becos "he was just such a nice dog she decided to take him home with her." There is apparently a big business in dog-napping in some places with the dogs being sold to labs.
