Sadly, you are quite correct. The corporatization of what had become the organic "industry" was almost totally complete by the time I left, a couple of decades ago. What had been a "movement" became a profit-oriented adjunct of mega-corporations following consumer trends - with the accompanying lowering of quality standards baked in. But that's a story for another time...

what's pertinent to this post is this - https://ggenereux.blog/2024/05/13/niacin-is-it-another-bogus-vitamin/ wherein the author discloses that the western countries which most of ye's live in have all made adulteration of 'organic' flours mandatory - such that "vitamins" & other 'fortifiers' MUST be added to 'organic' commodities. He details the 'effects' of such add ons, from a very 'experiential' angle!

Even when they think they've escaped the frog pot, the benighted denizens of the wester world find themselves herded back at every turn. At this point, if you didn't personally grow/forage it - you prolly don't want to know what's in it. Yes/it's that bad.

Well we have here at least local foods even in the supermarket, eg eggs+milk are not form far away, apples also from eg the rheinland. Also have 2-3 farmers nearby- But I am not eating only healthy anyways. I love some cake, coffee... :P But i avoid most overly packaged stuff (Fertiggerichte). And eg the "organic" milk (called bio here) is reall ybetter then the cheaper one, it is 30-40cent more expensive but this is really is worth it. And avoid "pasteurized" milk products(!), this is a fraud just like the man was and his false germ theory. But i am sure there are still some smaller honest "organic" producers.- Still the best ofc go to the next farmer (or farm market...we have one next week I read in the paper). In general I also avoid deos, toothpaste, flourid in salt etc, shampoo, bathing solution (most have chemicals). I use mostly the simplest soap i can find :) Maybe do not smell as nice then without parfume/deo (has ofc chemicals)
